About Us
Wattery is an EV charging system based in Turku, Finland, with development and maintenance done entirely in Finland. Our background is in electrical design and building electrical systems, and we approach EV charging as part of the property's electrical infrastructure.

Our Story
Wattery grew out of hands-on work with property and electrical systems. We were involved in projects where EV charging was being added to existing properties, and we saw firsthand how solutions were often built around closed systems and on hardware vendors´ terms. This did not feel like a sustainable way to develop building electrical systems.
Working with property owners, housing associations, contractors, and designers, we repeatedly encountered the same problem: the market lacked a charging system that was genuinely open, electrically sound, and easy to manage. We saw that EV charging is not just a passive load, but an inseparable part of the wider ecosystem of the property and the electricity grid.
Managing this larger ecosystem is only possible through open systems. We believe that charging infrastructure must be part of something bigger, and therefore it must be open. Closed models limit the ability to adapt to future needs, where electricity usage must be flexible and communicate seamlessly with the surrounding world.
From this need, Wattery was born. We wanted to build an open and flexible charging platform that adapts to the property's real needs - without vendor lock-in. We have created a system that can start with a single charging point and grow over time into a demanding, intelligently controlled system that is ready to serve the surrounding energy system as well. – Pekka and Tanja

Our Vision
Electricity consumption and production are rapidly moving toward a more dynamic energy environment. As vehicle fleets and society as a whole electrify, the need for flexible and innovative systems continues to grow. We believe that EV charging is not just a new consumption item, but a central part of this future flexibility.
Just as a breakwater keeps a small harbor safe in stormy weather, an intelligent and controllable power grid protects its users from changes in the electricity market and the power grid.
Today's needs do not rule out tomorrow's possibilities if the right technical choices are made early on. Wattery's vision is to provide a platform that gives property owners and professionals real control over their own systems. When a system is not locked to a single vendor, it becomes possible to respond to future requirements without having to rebuild the entire infrastructure.
We believe that a charging system must be part of something bigger — and therefore it must not be tied to a closed ecosystem. Vendor lock-in and closed systems slow down development, while solutions based on open standards enable flexibility and compatibility even with technologies that have not yet been invented.
We are here to ensure that our customers make sustainable choices by building a long-lifecycle platform that does not limit development, but enables it.
